Dip-molded part of the month June: Dip-molded component for air supply in soil compactors

Electrically powered construction machinery places the highest demands on its components — particularly where the reliable cooling of sensitive drive technology is concerned. An electric motor that is not supplied with sufficient cooling air can pose a risk to the entire machine. This is precisely where our dip molded part of the month of June comes into play.

Developed for use in an electrically powered soil compactor, the dip molded part takes on the targeted ventilation and cooling of the electric motor. Thanks to its specially adapted geometry, it fits ideally into the available engine compartment, enabling aerodynamically efficient routing of cooling air while making optimal use of the available space — a combination that is anything but a given in the confined engine compartment of a construction machine.

To ensure the required dimensional stability, the component is manufactured from molerit® with a hardness of 80 Shore A — a material that combines the necessary rigidity with the characteristic flexibility of a dip molded part. An additionally transversely arranged, fully encapsulated metal bracket serves as a robust mounting interface and ensures the secure fixation of the dip molded part within the machine — even under dynamic loads in the demanding conditions of a construction site. The deliberately integrated open holes in the component are designed to accommodate additional bellows. These additional components enable defined motion compensation, absorb vibrations and relative movements within the system, and thus contribute significantly to the longevity and functional reliability of the entire assembly.

Our dip molded part for the motor ventilation of the electric soil compactor offers genuine added value for manufacturers and operators of construction machinery. It reduces assembly effort, ensures reliable and efficient cooling of the electric motor, and is robust enough for demanding continuous use on the construction site. Furthermore, this component exemplifies what customer-specific dip molded solutions can achieve: wherever complex geometries, confined spaces, and secure fastening under dynamic loads are required, the dip molded part is the right choice — in the construction machinery sector just as much as in numerous other industries and applications.
